Learn More About OCPA

Orange County Power Authority (OCPA) is leading the transition to clean power for Orange County. As a not-for-profit renewable energy organization, OCPA reinvests revenue back into the communities it serves through energy efficiency programs, community-based organization support, and grant funding.

Since launching service in 2022, OCPA has

Reduced CO2 emissions by 2 billion lbs

That's equivalent to
221,373

gas-powered vehicles taken off the road

40.4M+

trash bags of waste recycled instead of adding them to the landfill

15.3M+

tree seedlings grown for 10 years, sequestering carbon

HOW IT WORKS

Cleaner energy is empowered energy

For the first time ever, you can choose your energy provider and the size of your carbon footprint.
Green energy (wind, solar, geothermal and biomass) is kinder on your health, the health of the planet, and the health of future generations.
Competitively priced, reliable electricity with three renewable energy plans. Customers always have the option to return to Southern California Edison.
As a locally controlled not-for-profit, OCPA reinvests back into its communities through energy efficiency rebates, educational programs and grants.
California

Part of a growing movement: OCPA is one of 25 Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) programs across California serving more than 14 million customers. CCAs enable local control over how and where electricity is purchased, bringing choice and competition to the market where there was none before.

A CCA’s core function is to source renewable energy on behalf of its customers and provide it at competitive rates. CCAs have saved customers more than $760 million across the state.
