Orange County Power Authority Issues Request for Qualifications for Community Power Plan Outreach Services

Outreach will solicit input from organizations and individuals in the communities OCPA serves to advance development of the Community Power Plan

IRVINE, Calif. (January 21, 2025) – Orange County Power Authority (OCPA) – a community energy provider – is now accepting qualifications from nonprofits, community-based organizations, as well as qualified firms and individuals for outreach services to support the development of its Community Power Plan (CPP). The CPP will be a five-year strategic plan for developing new community energy programs that promote sustainability, energy independence and cost savings for OCPA customers.

OCPA is looking to gather input from community members by co-hosting listening sessions and informational meetings, visiting existing meetings and events to gather input around community energy, and marketing and implementing current and new programs. Organizations experienced with outreach to hard-to-reach and under-resourced communities are encouraged to submit qualifications.

“As a not-for-profit community energy provider, Orange County Power Authority is committed to creating energy programs that reflect the unique needs of our member communities,” said Joe Mosca, CEO. “The Community Power Plan is designed to give the community a voice in developing energy-related programs that support the transition to renewable energy, ensure equitable access and education, and save customers energy and money.”

OCPA is working with The Energy Coalition (TEC) to develop and implement the CPP. Selected outreach partners will be expected to coordinate with TEC to ensure the alignment of tasks. Outreach services are expected to commence in March 2025.
