Global Earth Day 2025 Action Starts Here In Orange County

Each Earth Day focuses on a new theme to bring global attention to the most pressing environmental issues. This year’s theme 一 Our Power, Our Planet 一 may be the most important yet and hits particularly close to home here at OCPA and in Orange County.

Earth Day 2025 is focused on rallying awareness and uniting behind renewable energy sources, such as wind, solar and geothermal, and tripling the global generation of clean electricity by 2030. It is not hyperbole that our planet needs us to embrace renewables 一 and rapidly 一 to combat devastating climate change.

OCPA’s core purpose is to give our Orange County communities the power to do their part to increase use of renewable energy sources through more affordable and clean electricity.

And along with simply being an OCPA customer, there’s boundless other ways to take action on Earth Day (April 22) and every day.

The official Earth Action Day website has lots of ideas, including an interactive map of events happening across the world and right here in Orange County. You can educate, advocate and mobilize – including attending, planning and/or registering a local event, integrating Earth Day lessons into your curricula and donating to support larger efforts.

You can take to social media to echo an official #EarthMonth and #EarthActionDay pledge, or create your own. Some ways are to use less and waste less, to eat greener, to drive less and move more, and to cut back on energy use. There are many other pledges you can take and share to make one (or more!) small change for a cleaner and greener future.

OCPA will be participating in several Earth Day events, so come say hi!

April 19

  • Buena Park’s Spring Eggstravaganza and Sustainability Fair
  • Earth Day Irvine at the Quail Hill Community Center

April 26

  • Fullerton College’s Earth Week Fair

This Earth Day reminds us that there is an opportunity every day through activities, mobilization, advocacy, and simple fun to help spread the word and take concrete action to unite behind renewable energy, and protect the health of our planet and communities.
