Fountain Valley City Council Appoints Councilmember Glenn Grandis as its Representative on the Orange County Power Authority Board of Directors

The Fountain Valley appointee will join representatives from the agency’s current member cities of Buena Park, Fullerton, and Irvine

IRVINE, Calif. (December 26, 2024) – Orange County Power Authority’s (OCPA) newest member city of Fountain Valley, which adopted OCPA as its default energy provider beginning in October 2026, held its final meeting of the year that included mayoral appointments of councilmembers to outside committees. The Fountain Valley City Council voted to appoint Councilmember Glenn Grandis as the City’s representative on the Orange County Power Authority (OCPA) Board of Directors.

“Councilmember Grandis has been a resident of Fountain Valley for over 30 years and has built a reputation as a dedicated advocate for local issues,” said Mayor Bui. “Grandis possesses exceptional qualifications to serve on the OCPA Board of Directors. In this role, he aims to promote renewable energy solutions for both residents and businesses in the community.”

As a locally governed not-for-profit community energy provider, OCPA’s Board of Directors is made up of elected officials who are appointed by the city councils of OCPA member cities.

“Fountain Valley is the latest city to join the renewable energy movement through OCPA membership,” said Fred Jung, OCPA Chair. “We welcome Councilmember Grandis and his leadership as we work to expand energy choice to more consumers in Orange County.”  The role of the OCPA Board of Directors is organizational oversight for providing long-term sustainability to Orange County and to help communities meet their climate goals by offering a greener source of electricity at competitive rates. There are currently 25 not-for-profit community energy providers serving more than 14 million customers in more than 200 communities in California who are accelerating the clean energy transition and reduced dependence on fossil fuels.
