Jacquie Henderson Named Director of Communications and External Affairs

With more than 20 years of experience, Henderson will lead the public outreach, marketing and communications efforts as the organization continues to grow its presence as Orange County’s renewable energy provider.

IRVINE, Calif. (July 8, 2024) – Orange County Power Authority (OCPA) has announced the hiring of Jacquie Henderson as its Director of Communications and External Affairs. She will oversee all aspects of brand marketing and communications, public outreach and government relations, promoting OCPA’s mission to provide renewable energy at competitive rates and equitably reinvest to support sustainable communities.

“We are thrilled to have Jacquie lead OCPA’s community engagement team in outreach and raising awareness about community energy,” said OCPA CEO Joe Mosca. “Her background in both private and public sectors, recent work in the utility industry, as well as her collaborative management and leadership experience are strong assets as we continue to build a healthy and more sustainable future for Orange County.”

Henderson’s two decades of experience as a communications and marketing professional include working at high-profile brands and not-for-profit organizations, including most recently with Burbank Water and Power. She was also head of marketing and communications at a $45 million agency where she was responsible for and contributed to corporate communications strategy, public relations, digital media, business development, and industry/stakeholder relations.

Henderson holds a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications and media from the University of South Florida. She is also actively involved in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club and volunteering with various dog rescue organizations.
