Orange County Power Authority Announces 2025 Board of Directors

Local, not-for-profit, renewable energy provider swears in new Board and appoints new Chair and Vice Chair


IRVINE, Calif. (January 23, 2025) – The Orange County Power Authority (OCPA), a locally governed not-for-profit community energy provider, swore in a new Board of Directors at its first meeting of the year on January 22. The 2025 Board comprises five members committed to advocating for OCPA’s mission to provide renewable energy at competitive rates and equitably reinvest to support sustainable communities.

The 2025 Board of Directors includes:

  • Susan Sonne, Buena Park City Councilmember
  • William Go, Irvine City Councilmember
  • James Mai, Irvine Vice Mayor
  • Glenn Grandis, Fountain Valley City Councilmember
  • Fred Jung, Fullerton Mayor

The Board of Directors named Buena Park representative Susan Sonne as the Chair and Irvine representative James Mai as Vice Chair.

“I am honored to serve as the Chair of the Orange County Power Authority Board of Directors,” said Chair Sonne. “I look forward to working collaboratively with my fellow Board Members and the OCPA staff to expand on our efforts to provide the choice of renewable energy to Orange County communities.”

OCPA’s Board of Directors consists of elected officials who are appointed by the city councils of its member cities to provide oversight and strategic counsel while representing the communities in which they serve.
